In case you missed my latest article in Fairfield County Home Magazine, I recommend some terrific gadgets that will give you peace of mind when it comes to real safety issues with your kids.

What a FAB night!

I was recently the host/auctioneer at the Celebrity Chef Event in Westport. Mar Jennings and ran the event to benefit Postive Directions- we raised a large amount of money for a great cause and had a ball in the meantime!
All of the press were there as were some local striving politicians.

Another great event for an even better cause.

I LOVE it when the weather cools and the leaves change. I bring out my FAV sweaters, jeans and shearling slippers.

What do you like to do for fun?
I am a huge fan of watching the Moon and Stars- tres romantic! I cannot wait to light a fire, make a nice cup of tea and watch the evening sky with my hubby, 3 gorgeous kids and 3 dogs.

Fall Frenzy

What an AWESOME summer ending with a huge bang in SPAIN- the Rock of Gibraltar on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other- gorgeous Spanish people and food- Let's just say that I have a full, top half tan. WOW! What fun!
I am back and ready to attack my professional and personal life with all the positive energy I always love to have.
Fall is my favorite time of year but it can also be exhausting!
I like to visualize the tasks at hand and for me, I look at September through the Holidays as one big chunk of time. If I think about all that I have to do - even getting Christmas cards- then I am not surprised when it creeps up on me.
This time of year warrants a big organizational overhaul. (Check out my regular column in Fairfield County Home Magazine- "Devons Secret Services"). I always start with my closets and get rid of EVERYTHING I dont wear regularly. I love to buy high quality basics that last a very long time and then funk up my wardrobe with stylish and sexy pieces. Long, belted, snugly sweaters over leggings are a HOT look now- always worn with FAB shoes, of course! An excellent casual, chic look. I also love scarves, hats and gloves.. a classic and hip look. Just because you may be a MOM- how many kids?- you DON'T want to get too frumpy or crunchy- stay CHIC and SEXY- your husband will appreciate it- mine is so happy these days!
I have been wearing a lot of oranges and browns this summer which will work nicely into the fall and winter.

I am off to Spain!!

With the summer almost over, I am off for some fun in the sun in Marbella Spain.
Whenever I go overseas, I get a renewed perspective on everything in my life.
The Fall "Frenzy", as I call it, can be an overwhelmingly busy time of year. The schedules change, new school year coffees, fall sports begin and we start to think about all of the holidays on the horizon. I LOVE the Fall- the crisp air, fresh apple pie, pumkins etc... It is a wonderful time of year.

Look for a "New Look" on my website in the next few weeks.
We are making it even easier to get Practical Solutions for the Modern Woman. Our information will become less focused on regions and more focused on areas of interest. I am quickly becoming a national Lifestyle Personality and our site will soon be reflecting that.

Exciting New Project

I am excited to report that I am working on a new book- - a pithy memoir where I uncover the inner workings of life in Suburbia. Many stories are funny and some are tragic- in particular- an event involving the death of a good friend and the following few years that were disastrous-but where I learned a valuable lesson about letting in "bad" people.

Big Week for the Pink Empire!

We are so excited for this coming week. The new books are being delivered on Monday and we will have our second FAB Pink Party- this time at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, on Thursday evening. Of course, I have had another amazing PINK creation made for me by Fleur Isabelle- the woman who makes all of my custom couture. She is my favorite hidden treasure- look for her in my book. I will also be wearing my signature Pink Fur Wrap (around my neck)and my new Pink PUCCI 4" heels- (who cares if they aren't comfortable!)and my signature Joe Malone scent. Those who know me know how fabulous this scent is... I think it is nice to have signature accessories and scents. I am also known to a few as "Catgirl" because of my love of animal skins.... they are PURRRRRFECT!!

Spring Organization- Snappy Auctions

This is the time to PURGE,PURGE,PURGE! I feel so much better when my life is in order and I only have the things that I really use and need. I recently organized every square inch of my home and removed an enormous amount of "things" that I either don't use or no longer need. Now that every item in my home has a "place" I find it relatively easy to keep that way. My closets, mudroom, basement and attic are COMPLETELY organized! What a wonderful feeling!

Did you know that there is a company where you can drop off your things and they will sell them on EBAY? It's called SNAPPY AUCTIONS and will take your things and that is the last you see of it! I interview Brent Haney on WEBE this month and his store is in Norwalk at 365 Westport Avenue down from Stew Leonards. The HOT items that sell quickly are designer handbags, electronics, musical instruments and camera equipment. As the (humble!) Home and Lifestyle expert for Fairfield County, tune into WEBE 108 Morning Drive Time, with my tips, trends and endorsements for area resources.

We are also launching the second edition of the Fairfield County Pink Book on May 1 and will have another fabulous Pink Party at the Bruce Museum on May 4th to celebrate. The press love it because everyone wears Pink- even the drinks are Pink!

Also, look for Devon on the TODAY show on April 19. Very exciting!

My Favorite Eats

Does everyone love to eat good food? I want to know your favorite places.
I love Asian food and my favorite spot is in Westport- The Little Kitchen- 423 Post Rd East 227-2547- they offer all types of Asian food from Thai, Japanese, Chinese, etc. My favorite food is their Pad Thai, and the crabmeat quesadillas (even a little Mexican). To top it off, they have a chocolate fondue with is out of control!

My other favorite restaurant is GAIA in Greenwich. GAIA means "Mother Earth" in Galation. They offer organic meats and seafood with my favorite dish being the "macarooni and cheese" with usual cheeses served in a glass BALL jar. Outrageous!!!

What are your favorite things to do on "Date Night"

Whether you are an old married couple or just dating, what things do you like to do?
I am a big dinner and movie gal, but sometimes that gets old.

I love the stars and the Moon and have always loved to go to planetariums and bring a picnic. There is one at the Stamford Nature Center -tres romantic!

Where do you like to go? Do you know of any new restaurants?

How I practice "Down Time"

I am always going 1000 miles an hour- publishing and writing books, magazines, (BLOGS!)have 3 small children and don't forget the FAB husband who puts up with me!

I try to take a few minutes whenever I get a chance and practice my "Breathing Techniques". I sit still, turn off EVERYTHING, and close my eyes. Then I spend 3 seconds breathing in, holding it for 3 seconds and then exhaling for 3 seconds. You can actually change your brain chemistry and feel enormously better! If I REALLY want to feel well, I meditate and think about all of the things that I am grateful for. I always keeps me in a positive place!

Favorite Place to find Women's Sport Clothing

I am powerless over NIKE Women at the WestChester Mall in White Plains.
I don't particularly like Malls but this place is more like strolling up Madison Avenue- I am a sucker for fabulous workout clothes that can also be worn around town and this is the place. Did you know that you can also customize your sneakers?
